  1. locate the midpoint of your thigh - this is the halfway point between your knee and the top of your thigh where it meets your hip
  2. stand up straight and keep your feet together
  3. wrap the tape measure around the midpoint of your thigh. make sure the tape measure is level and snug but not too tight
  4. keep the tape measure parallel to the ground and perpendicular to your leg
  5. look at the number on the tape measure where it meets the end you started with. round the number to the nearest quarter inch or half centimeter

  1. stand up straight without shoes on and keep your feet shoulder-width apart
  2. place the tape measure at the base of your crotch where your leg meets your body. this is also called the top of your inseam
  3. hold the tape measure straight down your leg, following the natural curve of your inner thigh
  4. measure to the bottom of your ankle bone. make sure the tape measure is held straight and not twisted or sagging
  5. look at the number on the tape measure where it meets the end you started with. round the number to the nearest quarter inch or half centimeter
